Ways these Denver Broncos together with their 'play-dough' QB can stop the Kansas City Chiefs' dominance.

NFL 2025 season: Week six

Live coverage includes text commentary for Sunday's games via various channels, starting with Denver Broncos v New York Jets in London (kicking off at 2 PM BST). Also, radio commentary can be heard on select stations for a separate game (from 21:00 BST).

It's week six of the NFL season , following last week's talk regarding the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles as a potential Super Bowl match-up, they both surrendered their unbeaten records.

Striking during those contests were the amount of penalties each committed. The Eagles did so in key moments meaning they essentially defeated themselves after leading 17-3 entering the final quarter against the Denver Broncos, set to play overseas this weekend.

But it proved positive to observe how Denver's QB Bo Nix managed to overcome the shortfall before lead three scoring drives in three attempts during the final period, securing the victory 21-17.

The Broncos have the top defender in cornerback their star corner. They are first in goal-line defense, whereas Philadelphia are number one in red zone offence, yet Denver prevailed in that battle.

They executed the Eagles' number in terms of disguised blitzes. They did not always sending more than four defenders but they might position two linebackers in the interior then withdrawing them and dispatch a nickel off the edge.

Early on in the campaign, it was noted on a program that Denver might emerge as this season's surprise contenders. They finished last season strongly and excelled in continuing that momentum.

Are the Denver Broncos this season's dark horses?

New TE Evan Engram has stepped up significantly and recent running back JK Dobbins is a guy the team trusts. He now ranks fifth league-wide for rushing yards (402) and tied-fourth for rushing touchdowns (4).

It's impressive how the coach the Broncos' leader displays "RUN IT!" at the top of his playcall sheet.

That shows how the Broncos are a team aiming to run first, because one can achieve much off the back of that. It reduces opposing rushes while maintains in favourable down and distances.

This has helped quarterback the young passer, who entered the NFL as the 12th overall draft pick in the prior draft, passing for 29 TDs – second only to Justin Herbert in rookie records (31 back in 2020).

Josh Allen and Herbert possess the arm strength to pass all over, but they don't move in the same way as Nix. He has incredible arm talent, which is different, and he is so athletic.

His assets are his movement, being able to throw on the run, and using different arm angles to make the pass as he moves outside protection, the bootlegs. He can deliver precision throws across the middle or past defenders.

As a rookie QB, at 25, he displays great composure in the pocket and is not bothered by extra rushers. He tries to avoid being tackled as much as possible and can throw under pressure. He has sharp intelligence and is very decisive.

If you constantly rush it consumes time and forces the defence to be on the field extended periods, and if you have an athletic quarterback the defence has to defend the area downfield and horizontally. This proves draining.

Nix has bitten back with the coach during games at times and I think the coach appreciates that attitude, seeing him as a fierce rival. In my view it's exciting for the coach to coach a young quarterback who's similar to moldable clay. He can really develop him the way he desires to build it. I think it's a special experience for the coach.

The head coach owns a championship and has surpassed a legend in all-time victories (173 - tied 14th overall). He has witnessed everything. In my opinion the success Denver are having offensively is largely down to his guidance, his schemes, his game sense – and the pairing with the QB aids make him what he is.

You wouldn't want a more qualified person in your ear, to help you through difficult moments and boost self-belief.

I have faith in Denver's defence, in Bo Nix's tenacity and composure. Yet are they good enough to face an elite team at full strength? Since that was not championship-level play by the Eagles last Sunday.

Currently, I don't think the Broncos are incredible. They're working better than most, that's a good place to hold their division. The key to do is maintain this path.

They're really good at leaning into their forte, that is the ground game, and this is exactly what they must do versus the New York Jets in London. It will likely be a Dobbins-focused game, essentially.

The Jets have allowed 140 yards on the ground each contest (sixth worst), five ground scores so far (10th worst), and they are the only team yet to win a game.

Ever since the league began tracking turnovers decades ago, this team are also the inaugural squad to go without a single takeaway in five outings, this is kind of shocking considering that the head coach Aaron Glenn defensive co-ordinator with another team.

Patrick Mahomes stated Kansas City are off to a poor start after Monday's defeat to Jacksonville.

After this Sunday's game, the Broncos face a smooth-ish schedule until their break (in week 12) - the Giants, Dallas Cowboys, the Texans and the Raiders prior to the Chiefs.

In their division, Kansas City hold a losing record and the Broncos are even with the Chargers at 3-2 so they could make a run at leading the division.

It depends upon which form Kansas City shows up they meet because Denver {beat|def
