Lionesses forward Michelle Agyemang, darts sensation Luke Littler and cricket star Davina Perrin have been named as finalists for the 2025 Young Sports Personality of the Year award.

The trio have been celebrated for their exceptional achievements over the previous year.

Agyemang was instrumental as the Lionesses secure Euro 2025, Littler secured the world title for the first time, and Perrin rose to fame with a historic innings.

Littler was the recipient in 2024 after his sensational debut year.

The three contenders were revealed during a live broadcast on a popular morning radio program.

The 2025 recipient will be revealed live on the prestigious sports ceremony show on Thursday, 18 December.

The show will be aired from 19:00 GMT.

Agyemang's Profile

Age: 19 Sport: Football

A mere three months after her senior team debut, Agyemang played a pivotal and thrilling role in England's run to winning the Euros.

She was introduced as a substitute to score vital last-gasp goals in both the knockout stage games.

Her incredible contributions led to her being named Young Player of the Tournament.

Subsequently, she was awarded the prestigious Golden Girl honour for the best young player in Europe.

She was also in contention for the Kopa Trophy for the world's best under-21 female player.

Agyemang, who has been playing for Brighton on loan from Arsenal, suffered an ACL injury in October.

"Being nominated for Young Sports Personality of the Year is an honour," said Agyemang. "I'm grateful to God and I'm thankful for the support I've received from my loved ones, mentors, colleagues and supporters."

The Darts Prodigy

Age: 18 Sport: Darts

The year started for Littler in spectacular fashion as - while still 17 - he became the earliest-ever winner in history.

He secured a dominant victory over Michael van Gerwen in the final.

His later win at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth individual to complete the prestigious triple crown of major titles.

And he wasn't finished there - his triumph in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he ascended to world number one for the very first time.

At 18, he is the earliest achiever to do so, breaking the previous record.

"Earning a spot on the shortlist for Young Sports Personality of the Year is a huge privilege," stated Littler. "My victory in 2024 was a proud moment for me and I've had another amazing 12 months. I want to continue elevating darts."

Davina Perrin

Age: 19 Sport: Cricket

Perrin is one of English cricket's top prospects and rose to fame with an extraordinary and record-breaking innings in August.

Her magnificent 42-ball century in The Hundred is the fastest by an English woman in T20s.

It also stands as the equal third-quickest women's T20 century in a premier tournament.

Perrin ended up as runner-up in the batting rankings and was named PCA Women's Young Player of the Year.

"I'm deeply humbled to be nominated for the young athlete award," expressed Perrin. "This is phenomenal. I hope it inspires more young women to get into cricket."
