Recent Particulars Emerge Regarding the Finding of the Bodies of Rob and Michele Reiner Remains

Fresh particulars have surfaced about the untimely deaths of acclaimed film director Rob Reiner and visual artist Michele Singer Reiner, whose remains were located at their Brentwood, Los Angeles residence on Sunday.

The Alarm

According to a report referencing a person close to the family, a therapist arriving for an appointment first raised the alarm after being unable to gain access the residence. The therapist then reached out to the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who lives nearby.

When she went into the house, Romy discovered her father's body. Reports state she then left the home distraught, unaware at that moment that her mother's body was there as well. Another individual who had accompanied her promptly called 911. Following this, first responders discovered Michele Singer Reiner's body.

Legal Charges

Law enforcement have formally accused the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with two counts of murder in the first degree, as well as the use of a dangerous weapon, reportedly a knife. He is now in custody and denied bail.

Correcting the Record

The confidential informant also disputed several previously reported details. It was stated that while Romy Reiner told emergency responders that her brother Nick lived in a detached unit on the estate, she did not name him as a potential suspect at that juncture.

The source also disputed widely reported suggestions that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been particularly "concerned" about Nick's behavior in recent weeks. Rather the family was "familiar with working through [Nick's] problems together."

This correction includes descriptions of alleged "unpredictable" behavior by Nick at a party thrown by Conan O'Brien on the night before the discovery. Although the source stated they were not in a position to confirm whether Rob had "chastised" his son at the party, they maintained that reports of a "heated argument" between the two were inaccurate.

Ongoing Inquiry Timeline

According to law enforcement sources, the coroner had not yet established at that point whether the Reiners died on Saturday evening or on Sunday. Some accounts suggested the state of their bodies implied they had been dead for some hours.

Nick Reiner was arrested at around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the neighbourhood of Exposition Park, some 15 miles from the family home. He was set to be arraigned on Tuesday, but his attorney, Alan Jackson, stated his client had not been medically cleared and would not appear until Wednesday at the earliest.
