Netflix Selects Perfect Star for Mr. 2 in the Hit Series Upcoming Installment

Baroque Works is geared up to exert significant influence in the next installment of Netflix’s show of One Piece, although the true confrontation won’t unfold until the next season, and a beloved, popular member has now been chosen.

Netflix announced this week that the talented performer has joined the One Piece upcoming season’s lineup and will portray Mr. 2. This character can use their power to transform into an identical duplicate of any person they’ve laid a hand on with their dominant hand. The actor, who is gender non-conforming and prefers they/them pronouns, will play a version of that figure re-envisioned as gender non-binary, instead of as a drag queen, in the live-action series, differing from the source material and anime.

The new cast member is joined by multiple recently announced actors set to bring the organization to life, such as chief Sir Crocodile, played by the seasoned performer, a talented actress as another operative, and a familiar face, who will appear as the lineup as the ruler of the desert kingdom.

Though the role is a important part of the organization, the character won’t make their debut One Piece season 3. Given the next season likely to portray the Little Garden arc, this represents a notable change in the schedule of the character’s debut, one that could indicate more adjustments to the narrative framework.

The actor’s combination of excellent comedic sense and deep sensitivity makes them a ideal selection for the part. Along with their latest vocal work in the youth-focused cartoon movie Boys Go to Jupiter, they garnered significant recognition and numerous honors for writing and starring in the hit comedy play Oh Mary!, showcasing the range they’ll bring to one of One Piece’s widely praised figures.

The streaming service’s real-life One Piece program is set to return for its next installment on March 10th, 2026.
