Los Angeles witnessed citywide festivities after the Los Angeles Dodgers clinched a nail-biting seven-game World Series title. Supporters across the globe united with Angelenos in celebration, marking the first time in a quarter-century that a franchise has achieved consecutive championships.

Celebration Parade Draws Enormous Turnout

Local celebrations included a procession through the city center on the morning of the parade, a reserved-seating event at the team's home stadium, and impromptu gatherings throughout the city.

Social media videos depict countless of Angelenos packing city center avenues, many carrying homemade signs and team flags. The team was seen traveling proudly on a double-decker bus through the crowds, raising the championship trophy high.

“My focus is already about the next championship we’re going to do this,” Shohei Ohtani remarked through an interpreter.

The parade route concluded at the stadium, where the team emerged to the rapper’s “Not Like Us,” with DJ Mustard providing music and Ice Cube cruising a Pacific blue classic car around the stadium’s outfield.

Pre-Parade Festivities and Athlete Responses

Celebrations started well before the procession, with Dodgers fans lighting flares in the streets of Downtown Los Angeles on the previous evening.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto, named the MVP of the championship, spoke plainly about the victory.

“Losing is not an option,” Yamamoto stated. “I adore this team. I love Los Angeles.”

Mixed Reactions and Community Spirit

However, the team owner was met with a less warm reception at the celebration. Video footage from the gathering seem to depict Walter walking onstage to a combination of cheers and jeers, with jeers punctuating his address.

The championship served as a positive moment in what has been a trying year for the city. An estimated 225,000 people showed up to the Dodgers’ victory parade last year, and according to team member Freddie Freeman, supporters this year demonstrated as much if not more enthusiasm.

“I feel like it’s almost double from last year,” he said. “The supporters are incredible. It’s so awesome to be a involved in this.”
