Missile Defenses Activated

In other parts of the Middle East, the UAE, the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait - which all house American military installations - said they have shot down incoming projectiles in their territorial skies.

In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence stated it had successfully engaged a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the biggest US military installation in the region.

Operation "Truthful Promise 4"

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) declared it was attacking US bases and assets as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the attack on Iran initiated by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.

That US-Israeli operation - executed at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far targeted locations associated with the Tehran's leadership, with President Trump urging the Iranian people to revolt against the government.

Wider Impacts

In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded nationwide after the Israel Defense Forces said it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The Ministry of Defence of the UAE announced that the country has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"Emirati air defenses responded to the missiles with great effectiveness and successfully intercepted a series of missiles," the statement continued.

Officials reported debris landed in a neighborhood in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some structural damage and the death of one civilian.

The United States Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, to the south of the Emirati capital, along with the Emirati Air Force.
