US actor Finn, who was seen in iconic television series like "Friends", Seinfeld and The Middle, has succumbed at the age of 60.

The comedic improv actor passed away at his residence in Los Angeles, California this Monday after undergoing cancer treatment since 2022, according to media reports.

"Pat never met a stranger - only friends he didn't know yet," his loved ones said in a announcement.

They continued that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with joy and exuberance".

An Extensive TV Career

Finn's first television role was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he played the lead character's sibling.

He subsequently landed a recurring role on Murphy Brown from 1995 to 1997.

He appeared as Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in the late 90s, portraying a party host who would assign burdensome jobs to his guests.

During the late 1990s and early 2000s, he made guest appearances on numerous hit series, such as:

  • King of Queens
  • "Friends"
  • "That '70s Show"
  • House, M.D.

His most famous role for portraying Bill Norwood in "The Middle", appearing throughout eight series from 2011 to 2018.

His film credits include It's Complicated and "Santa Paws 2".

Off-Screen Life

Outside of his on-screen roles, Finn was a skilled improviser and also taught at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.

He was involved with a six-member improv team named Beer Shark Mice.

"He guided, supported, and advised countless students during his career and it's nearly impossible to find a person anyplace who has a bad thing to say about him," his relatives stated.

Paying homage, peer actor Richard Kind noted there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, authentic human being you could encounter".

"Consistently upbeat, helping you be funnier and better. An excellent dad and person," Kind wrote on social media.

Finn is leaves behind his wife Donna, his children, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
